systems/Williford Trucking post the first 6 second no bar Pass Pro 1 Turbo systems/Williford Trucking post the first 6 second no bar Pass
Rodney arrived at Rockingham Dragway with one thought on his mind, to win the race and move up in points. He was 4TH in points. This weekend was history in the making for the Pro 1 turbo/Williford trucking team. The first shake down run on the bike was not stellar, it spun wickedly down the track torching the tire stated Rodney. After going back to the pit area the team put a new tire on. We also adjusted the chassis up to transfer more weight on the rear of the bike. The second pass down the track put the Pro 1 bike in the number 1 spot with a 7.08 with a booming 197mph pass in the heat of the day. The 3rd pass was run during the peak of the day. The track temperatures was over 125 degrees. Rodney put up a 7.10 on the board and a faster 198mph. The team was on to something. After that session the Pro 1 bike was still on top, but L&W powered Ralph Medrano put up an impressive 7.09@192 posting the quickest run for a NOS powered Outlaw bike. The weather conditions improved so we wanted to see what the bike would do stated Rodney. The Pro 1 turbo systems bike left the line straight as an arrow. The bike made a huge move in the back half of the pass. The boards lit up 6.99@198.09 mph. The crew erupted at the starting line.
The first pass under 6 seconds for any no bar bike on the planet. Anatomy of the pass was 1.20 60 foot mark 4.57@164mph eighth mile time to a 6.99@198. Rodney was congratulated by his team. Not to rest on the last pass in the ultra competitive Outlaw class, Rodney cleared his mind for eliminations. This is a tough class to compete in stated Rodney. Round one Rodney had a bye due to a competition break. He posted 7.02@193. Round two Rodney faced off with Mac The General McAdams. Rodney again posts a 7.0 time slip to send himself to the semis. The semi finals competition was last event winner Angie McBride. Rodney used a 7.09 to her 7.16 to advance to the finals.
The finals pitted Rodney against none other than the number two qualifier Ralph Medrano jr. Medrano was out first but at the eighth mile mark it was a side by side battle to the lights, Rodney posted a consistent run of 7.10@196 to a 7.11@192 for the win. With this win Rodney moved up to the number 2 spot in points. As a rider/crewcheif this is one of the greatest achievements of my racing career, stated Rodney. We won the event and set the record. I want to have the mph record also, its currently held by Barry Henson at 202. My goal is to promote, attract new racers, and to advance this class. I would like to personally thank all the competitors for their devotion to this class.
Rodney would like to thank all the sponsors * Pro 1 Turbo systems
